Cultural treasure chest

My husband's school is participating in an exchange program with several other European schools, so from Oct. 15-18 they had representatives visiting to plan their project. The title of their project is "A cultural treasure chest", so I nade them this cake with flags of each country on golden coins.

Wedding cake & cupcakes

 For my friend Nancy's wedding, I made her  a small cake and 120 cupcakes (half vanilla, half chocolate, some with vanilla frosting and some with chocolate). The cake was also a mix; top layer vanilla and bottom chocolate.

I also made the cupcake stands. The supports were empty cans covered with gathered fabric (from Nancy's dress!). Plates were covered in ivory paper, and edged with brown satin ribbon.

Dora the Explorer

 Well this was a challenge! We had to make a cake for a girl who is celiac, egg intolerant, soy intolerant, and allergic to nuts.... Luckily dairy products weren't a problem!!!
So we found a really delicious chocolate cake recipe, and used a chocolate buttercream filling. The fondant is all homemade marshmallow fondant (since all the store bought stuff had traces of just about everything in them...)

Ok, so the doll is a knock-off from the Chinese shop... this can, of course, be made with an authentic doll but the price would increase depending on cost of doll.
Cake is two different flavours; the top half is Devil's Food Chocolate with Buttercream, the bottom half Strawberry with Strawberry Cream frosting. This cake is for 30 people.
